Belagavi: State JD (S) president H D Kumaraswamy, on Saturday announced that elections to the Legislative Assembly in 2018 would his “last fight” (in politics), and that it would be a “do-or-die” battle for regional parties as well.

The JD (S) would strive to make Karnataka debt-free post Assembly polls in 2018, he told the media at Muddebihal, near Vijayapura, adding that such issues as well as the interests of poor farmers were not important for national parties—the Congress and BJP which were wasting precious time in trying to defeat each other.

Mr Kumaraswamy said eight legislators who were suspended from the party for backing Congress candidate in recent polls to Rajya Sabha would not be reinstated under any circumstances.
