The State Congress president E.V.K.S. Elangovan has said there would be no hitch in seat sharing or allotment of constituencies by the DMK as the common goal of the two parties was to defeat the Jayalalithaa-led AIADMK in the upcoming elections.
Talking to the media here, Elangovan said that the DMDK was welcome to join the alliance. But the Congress would not worry over the allotment of seats to any of the alliance partners.
“Our aim is to defeat the AIADMK,” he said. The State Congress chief urged the
Governor to order a CBI probe into the death of the Agriculture department’s assistant engineer S. Muthukumarasamy. “We have no faith in the CB-CID. The CBI should probe into it,” he said.
The legal wing of the Congress will move the Supreme Court against the order of the Madurai Bench quashing corruption and abetment to suicide against
the former state minister Agri Krishnamurthy.
