DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin on Monday announced that he would not celebrate his birthday this year since several people had lost their dear ones and belongings, besides suffering losses in business due to floods that hit many districts.
However, he requested people to distribute welfare assistance and provide relief to flood affected families on his birthday on March 1. The party workers should make door-to-door visits, distribute pamphlets on the misrule of the AIADMK government, besides explaining to them that DMK alone was the bulwark of Tamil Nadu people.
“Your birthday gift to me will be to explain the maladministration of the AIADMK and canvass support for DMK”, he said. Stalin also said he would not be in Chennai on his birthday and cadres need not try to meet him. They could resort to party propaganda in their places, he added.
