Pokemon Go, the mega-viral game, has been in the news for its addictive nature. Many users are now downloading the game because they heard the craze from the news and want to try it out themselves. Now that the game has launched in 26 countries, more users are getting onboard to play Pokemon Go.

A report recently mentioned that the servers at Niantic were down for a brief moment and users were not able to logging to their accounts. The reason was said to be a possible hack or a server slowdown due to the overwhelming response from users around the world.

Gizmodo reports that the servers were hacked by a hacking collective, known as PoodleCorp. PoodleCorp has taken credit for the hack and tweeted about it. However, the hackers claim that the attack this time was only a ‘test’ and they are planning on a bigger attack soon.

Just was a lil test, we will do something on a larger scale soon .

The Pokemon Go game servers were down for almost 10 minutes and users could not log into their accounts to play the game. This was attributed to a server overload issue since the game is a mega-viral hit. Pokemon Go tweeted that there were servers issues and they are working on it.

Trainers! We have been working to fix the  server issues. Thank you for your patience. We’ll post an update soon.
