Filmmaker Puri Jagannath, who is currently busy shooting for Rogue in Kolkata, is all set to direct another Hindi film, this time starring fresh-out-of-jail Sanjay Dutt.
According to sources close to Dutt, Puri met the actor earlier this week and narrated a story. Dutt loved it and immediately said yes. It is apparently an action story unlike anything the seasoned actor has done before.
Puri had earlier done Bbuddah… Hoga Terra Baap in Hindi, his homage to the Bachchan phenomenon, but it didn’t click at the box office.
Says Puri, “Yes, I will be directing a Hindi film with Sanjay after I wrap up Rogue. When I narrated the script to Sanju, he loved it.” He refused to reveal more.
In fact, this is probably the first time that a Telugu film is being shot in Kolkata and Puri is working with a new team.
He says, “I sacked my office and on-location team, some of whom were with me for 20 years. I’m working with a new set of technicians and workers now.”
