Choreographers turning filmmakers is not new to Tamil cinema — Prabhu Deva, Raju Sundaram and Raghava Lawrence are the most prominent examples. The latest to join this bandwagon is none other than Sridhar of Naaka Mukka fame.
The dance master, who has choreographed over 800 Tamil movies, will be directing a movie called Savadi, which deals with street biking and how reckless driving by youngsters is affecting their families and the public.
The movie’s pooja was held recently, and Sridhar has stated that he interacted with almost 50 bike racers for this project. He said he was heartbroken when one of the racers named Ganesh died in an accident.
The movie’s shoot will start on May 18 and they have planned to wrap it up in a single schedule. Savadi is produced by V. N. Ranjith Kumar. Apart from Sridhar, who also plays the lead actor, the movie features Shilpa, Mottai Rajendra, Pintu and others. Pravinsaivi will be composing music for the film, while Sevilo Raja and Chandhrakumar.G will take care of cinematography and editing respectively.
