Two Muslim dating websites were hacked this week and the entire data that was stolen is now available online. According to LeakedSource, a hacker managed to breach into two dating websites for Muslims on July 10, 2016.

The report mentions that LeakedSource claims to have obtained a copy of the stolen data, which the hacker managed to source from the said portals. The data records of almost 2 million users have been stolen, which include email addresses and the passwords are in clear text.

The two websites that were affected are MuslimMatch.com and Shadi.com. The data breach was reported two weeks when MuslimMatch.com was hacked, and followed by Shadi.com, which was hacked on July 10.

The data contained over 150,000 user account details and more than 790,000 private messages exchanged between the users. Passwords from Shadi.com are reported to be in clear text format, but MuslimMatch.com has passwords that are encrypted with MD5, which can be easily decrypted.

Presently, reports state that none of the data from the two sites are reported to be traded, but there is no assurance if it has already been taken place. Affected users can head to the LeakedSource website to know if their data is available online. Users are advised to change their passwords as soon as possible. For other websites, that are not yet breached, make sure that you keep changing passwords on a timely basis and if available, try using a two-step authentication or an alert system so that you are aware of anyone trying to get into your account.

In a similar incident, Softpedia reported that AfrikaDating.com and AdultSingleSites.com.au were also hacked into and more than 12,000 and 67,000 records respectively were leaked. PinkDate.co.uk, an escort website was also breached earlier.
